For IKEA we are looking for an experienced Data Scientist for the Omnichannel Planning team within the Inventory & Logistics Operations (ILO) domain. This cross-functional team is working on digital products to support planning.

The scope of the Data Scientist

Current focus of the work will be on the forecasting models to predict customer demand and expected load on ulfilment units.

• Improvement and expansion of forecasting models
• Together with engineers, improve and build on top of MLOps infrastructure
• Development and maintenance of the application landscape, including an internal web app where forecasts are delivered

Code is written in Python and deployed on Google Cloud Platform.

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in a commercial environment
• A proven track record of building and deploying ML solutions to production
• Strong knowledge of ML algorithms and how to apply them to real-world problems, such as demand forecasting
• A master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field
• Excellent communicative skills, with good command of the English language
• Project experience with our tech stack, most importantly Python, SQL, Jupyter and Git
• Familiarity with collaborative software engineering practices (Git, Agile, Scrum, CI/CD, DevOps)
• Self-organized and able to work independently, while collaborating proactively with others in a team and the wider organization
