Database training

OptimaData offers custom-fit trainings for both junior and senior DBAs and other database professionals. Within these trainings, both theory and practice receive a lot of attention. The trainers are experienced and active as database consultant. After completing the training, participants receive an OptimaData certification. All trainings are open to individual participants or companies. We also provide specific, suitable trainings for companies and institutions.

Tailored training

Every environment is different. OptimaData therefore also provides (corporate) training on a customized basis. A database training specific to your needs or a combination of our training offerings. DBA Standard

Objective

Proper management and maintenance of the database and associated applications requires a sound basic knowledge. The DBA Standard training course focuses on introducing the basic principles and best practices. Important topics covered in this training include configuring access and security, optimizing performance, implementing backup and restore procedures and other crucial aspects for optimal deployment of the databases and applications.

Target audience

Database Administrators with some experience in relational database management systems.

The training is available for PostgreSQL, PostgresPURE, MariaDB, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB.

DBA Advanced

Objective

During the training, a participant will get to know more in-depth aspects of database management, such as the finesses of database performance and tuning, integration with other systems, query optimisation, locking problems, and advanced clustering. Additionally, the database will be compared to other database systems, such as Oracle.

Target audience

The program is open to DBAs who have completed the DBA Standard training as well as DBAs who have several years of experience with database environments.

  • Architecture in general;
  • Database performance tuning;
  • Setting up complex database configurations;

Objective

The Developer Training aims to provide participants with skills and knowledge to enable them to work with databases as software developer.

This training requires knowledge of – and experience with – the use of relational databases as software developer.

Topics that will be dealt with, are:

  • Architecture in general;
  • The use and numerous possibilities of the Data Definition Language (DDL);
  • The use and various possibilities of the Data Manipulation Language (DML), such as SQL and PL/pgSQL.
